Monday again?

It's that time again! Monday and a full moon.....
My pastor once said, "God made Mondays too." LOL
Well, Monday can be a good day, so I'm hoping this one is good for you.

We are celebrating Dr. Seuss this week as I'm sure many of you are.
We have a week full of activities planned.
Today is "Fox in Socks" and we are all wearing crazy socks.
I love days like this!
Not only are they fun for everyone, but I can get away with wearing my tennis shoes a lot:)
Our other days include...
Hat Day - 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins
Wacky Clothes - Wacky Wednesday
Dress like a Cat - Cat in the Hat
Pajama Day - I Don't Want to Get Up Today!
Would love to hear about any special activities you have planned this week.

The other good thing about Monday is that it is "Memory Verse Monday."
Our verse this week is 1 John 3:1a.
The packet includes a coloring sheet, word cards, and a secret code sheet.
Hope you enjoy it.
Go out there and make it a good Monday!

This post is all about a FREEBIE for you.

So even though it is George's birthday...the present is for you!
Enjoy!
Oh yes, if you were hoping for some patriotic items, here are a few from my store.

A Miracle for Miracle

Have you ever worried when your kids were sick?
Either your own kids or your "kids"?
I know I have. When our youngest was little she was sick all of the time. She was tested and retested and our worry list was off the charts. She is fine now (we believe healed). But what if your child was not fine? What if your news was not good? My answer would be, "I'm holding on to God and while I'm waiting to see what HE is going to do, show me what I can do."

I want to introduce you to a little girl named Miracle.
Miracle is a precious little first grade girl who has had to fight a lot in her young life and has recently found out that her fight will continue.
Miracle has just been diagnosed with Leukemia (added to her Cerebral Palsy).  She attends school where my friend Samantha teaches. While we are waiting to see what God is going to do, Samantha has put together something that we can do. On her blog, Ms. Smarty Pants, she has organized some GREAT donations that value at $110 and she is giving them away with your $25 donation. Miracle and her family are in need of our assistance. Please click Miracle's picture above and go to Ms. Smarty Pants' blog and read all about it. You will be able to view all of the products that you will receive and will have an opportunity to help out.
I know her family will appreciate whatever you can give and your prayers as well.

Happy President's Day & Memory Verse Monday

Happy President's Day!
I hope you all have the day off and are enjoying some couch time like I am:)

I plan to spend the day working on something new for Easter.
Be on the lookout for it.

In the meantime, here is our verse for Memory Verse Monday.
It's 1 Corinthians 13:13.
This one contains a word search as part of the pack.
Hope your kids have fun with it.

WILD but FUN!

Does anyone else think that Valentine's Day should only be allowed on Friday? LOL
We had a WILD but FUN day!
I hope your crew enjoyed the day and found lots of sweet activities to keep them learning.
Here are a few of the things we did.
We started the day with a Tens and Ones Mystery Picture from...
Teach With Laughter
Click on the pic below to pick up your copy.
Then we did some really cute game ideas that I found on
Teachers Pay Teachers by The Teaching Reef,
that are set up like the show "Minute to Win It."
We did the Licorice Challenge, where they had to try to eat a piece of licorice without using their hands. We measured before and after to see who had eaten the most centimeters.
(I couldn't add pictures without showing their faces.)
I do think this was their favorite activity of the day.
Our next game was called "Heart-A-Stack."
I gave each student 20 conversation hearts and then had them sort and complete a bar graph.
When everyone finished, we set the timer and tried to see who could make the tallest stack in one minute. I was thinking it might be easy, BUT the words on our hearts were raised! It was a fun challenge. The highest tower reached 11:)
And our last game was called Valentine Scramble.
They had to try to put a Valentine puzzle together in one minute.
It was SO hard and I'm sorry to say that no one (including me) could make it in less than one minute.
It was a lot of fun though.
After the challenge, I just had them glue it together on red construction paper.
It made a nice Valentine picture to take home.

There are other games in the packet, but that was all we had time for.
So go pick up your FREE copy and add it to your file.
My kids were begging to play more.

We ended our day with TOO many sweets and we shared our Valentine cards.
Hearing amazed comments like.....
"She wants me to be her Valentine," make me smile at their sweet innocence and how they just KNOW that every word on those cards is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth:)
The sweetest thing I read (and believed) today was this.....
Hope you enjoyed a special day with your kids too.

If you are still with me, here is your SWEET reward.
This FREEBIE includes heart cards for counting by 5's and 10's, along with recording sheets.
The complete packet at TpT also includes cards and sheets for counting by 2's, 3's, and 4's.
The number cards are done on hearts, so it really could be used any time of year.
Hope your enjoy it!

Love of Teaching Blog Hop Day 7

Welcome to Day 7! I am so excited to be a part of this blog hop.
There have been some SUPER SWEET FREEBIES so I hope you have picked them up all week.

My kids and I have been working on 2 and 3 digit subtraction with regrouping for several weeks now. They have been doing great with all of the steps, but it seems they keep tripping up on their basic subtraction facts (which they knew pretty well before we started). So my FREEBIE is an activity that will help them review basic subtraction.
(Click the cover for your copy.)
I have had it in one of my Math tubs this week and they have really enjoyed it.
I hope your kids will LOVE it too!
Have your students match the subtraction sentences with the correct differences.
Then they can complete the included recording sheet.
And my kids FAVORITE part, checking their paper with the answer key!
It's subtraction that is SWEET!

Your next stop is with Karla at Life in Special Education.
Click below to go check out her blog and come back tomorrow for her FREEBIE.
