WILD but FUN!

Does anyone else think that Valentine's Day should only be allowed on Friday? LOL
We had a WILD but FUN day!
I hope your crew enjoyed the day and found lots of sweet activities to keep them learning.
Here are a few of the things we did.
We started the day with a Tens and Ones Mystery Picture from...
Teach With Laughter
Click on the pic below to pick up your copy.
Then we did some really cute game ideas that I found on
Teachers Pay Teachers by The Teaching Reef,
that are set up like the show "Minute to Win It."
We did the Licorice Challenge, where they had to try to eat a piece of licorice without using their hands. We measured before and after to see who had eaten the most centimeters.
(I couldn't add pictures without showing their faces.)
I do think this was their favorite activity of the day.
Our next game was called "Heart-A-Stack."
I gave each student 20 conversation hearts and then had them sort and complete a bar graph.
When everyone finished, we set the timer and tried to see who could make the tallest stack in one minute. I was thinking it might be easy, BUT the words on our hearts were raised! It was a fun challenge. The highest tower reached 11:)
And our last game was called Valentine Scramble.
They had to try to put a Valentine puzzle together in one minute.
It was SO hard and I'm sorry to say that no one (including me) could make it in less than one minute.
It was a lot of fun though.
After the challenge, I just had them glue it together on red construction paper.
It made a nice Valentine picture to take home.

There are other games in the packet, but that was all we had time for.
So go pick up your FREE copy and add it to your file.
My kids were begging to play more.

We ended our day with TOO many sweets and we shared our Valentine cards.
Hearing amazed comments like.....
"She wants me to be her Valentine," make me smile at their sweet innocence and how they just KNOW that every word on those cards is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth:)
The sweetest thing I read (and believed) today was this.....
Hope you enjoyed a special day with your kids too.

If you are still with me, here is your SWEET reward.
This FREEBIE includes heart cards for counting by 5's and 10's, along with recording sheets.
The complete packet at TpT also includes cards and sheets for counting by 2's, 3's, and 4's.
The number cards are done on hearts, so it really could be used any time of year.
Hope your enjoy it!

  3. I so agree with you about V-day only being on Fridays!!! It felt like it should've been Friday after yesterday's party and the kids were so "off" and "wild" today still....I think from all the sugar!
