FREEBIE FRIDAY: Snowy Sentence Building

Sorry I've been MIA :(
But I'm back this week with a great FREEBIE.

So many of our kids need continuous practice with
building sentences, writing sentences, reading sentences....
and this packet helps you do just that.

They have a fun, Winter theme
that will keep their interest up.
They are great to use whole group.
Give every student one card,
have them walk around and
find the other students that match them,
then each group works together to build their sentence.
You could have each group
share their sentence with the whole group.

You could also use these with small groups
in reading groups and literacy stations.

And finally they could be used individually as an assessment.
It comes with a recording sheet and answer key.
Click on the picture to get your copy and
Happy Sentence Building!

FREEBIE FRIDAY: CVC Word Building

Yup, I know it's Saturday :(
I tried to get this posted yesterday but......

Anyway, here it is.
This is one of the very first products I ever made.
So it needed A LOT of updating.

It's a great word building activity for your students
who are working on CVC words.
It was designed to focus on the letter "b" but
can really be used for any CVC words.
Just print out the letter tiles that you want
 your students to practice.

It comes with 3 different work mats,
letter tiles,
a recording sheet,
and a possible word list.

Click on the picture to get your FREE copy.
And Happy Saturday!

FREEBIE FRIDAY: Cool Adjectives

Still over here cleaning out old files......
I found this cute page that I used
when we were practicing adjectives.
When I used it, I enlarged the left side to model
as they followed along on their paper.
When we finished,
they completed the other side independently.

Anyway, it's yours for FREE,
if you can use it.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Prepping for St. Patrick's Day

If you are getting ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day
with your students, I have a
few things to share with you.
I LOVE when activites and stations match the season
Yes, they need to be quality and educationally solid
but they can still be cute).

One idea for a fun whole group game is the ever popular,
"I Have, Who Has?". I LOVE having this game for all
seasons and themes. Same words your students need to
master, but add a new picture and kids think it's a
new game (whatever it takes to keep their interest).
I have this bundle for sale in my store.
It includes 5 levels of word cards
(preprimer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade).
Click on the picture to go directly to the link.

And now for some FREEBIES....
This word building activity uses the letters in the
word LEPRECAUNS.  Have your students use
the letters to build words and then add them
 to the included recording sheet.
Odd and even sorting fun!
The pack includes some preprogrammed number cards,
 but also includes blank shamrocks
(I would laminate them and then write
whatever numbers you want on them.
 Then you could easily erase
and change the numbers as often as you want to.)
And the last freebie is a set of gold coin number cards.
The cards go from 0-120 and have soooo many uses
(100s chart, calendar numbers, number ordering,
 addition/subtraction sentences,
multiplication/division sentences,
 greater than/less than,
skip counting, etc.).
The possibilities are almost endless.

I hope you see something here that you can use to make
March learning fun and engaging.
Just click on the picture and they are all yours.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Noah's Ark

Who doesn't love the story of Noah?
You know the cute part with all the sweet animals
floating along happily on the boat?

Do you think it was really like that?
Can you imagine?
The true sounds and smells of so many animals
all together in one place?

I don't know so much about the cute and sweet part,
but I do know that Noah was obedient to God
even when God asked him to do something strange
that would mean something awful for so many.

When teaching the story of Noah in class,
I certainly use the cute and sweet images,
but it's important to get students to the reality of what
was truly going on.

If you are ready to teach Noah,
your timing is just right for my updated learning packet
(and a FREEBIE).
It's a HUGE packet with over 90 pages and 16 activites
including reading, language arts, math, science, etc.

One of the activities is a memory verse puzzle
The verse is Genesis 6:22.
It's a fun way to help your students learn the verse.

Here's a sneek peek at the whole packet.
And now the FREEBIE....
It's a making words activity that practices "ar" words.
Click on the preview below to get your copy.
I hope you find something helpful here
as you get ready to teach the story of Noah to your kids.

Trick or Treat

Trick or treat! This is Cyndie from Chalk One Up for the Teacher
taking over this blog today as my trick, but keep reading to get your treat!

Several bloggers have joined together for this Trick or Treat Blog Hop. You will find more tricks as well as plenty of treats as you hop from door to door.

So, here's a treat to collect from me. (Oh, that I wish I could shove chocolate through the screen to you, because I think we've all hit that spot in the year, am I right?) This is a fun contraction game with a candy corn theme. Simply match the two word parts to the contraction to create a complete candy corn. You can find the product right here.
