Have you ever come across something random and thought,
"I could use that in my classroom"?
Well that happened to me recently.
I was visiting a friend who had a collection of old things that were ready for a yard sale.
He said there was something I had to see,
he just KNEW that I would "want it."
Well he was right, I did want it LOL!
Not because of its beauty, but because it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen.
YYYYYYYYYYYY?
Why would anyone own this?
Anyway, when I saw it I knew my kids would LOVE it!!
And boy do they. It makes me laugh every day.
We built several lessons around this thing.
We did a predicting activity, named them, gave them ages and birthdays,
and wrote stories about them.
Last week it was Princess's birthday and
they insisted on making her a crown and giving her a birthday sticker.
So I'm sure you don't have anything uglier than that hanging out in your classroom.
But I would love to hear from you.
What is the oddest thing that you have ever turned into a lesson
just to get your kids' attention?
Leave a comment and maybe a laugh or two :)

I am speechless! That's quite the lamp - enough said!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is QUITE ugly!! I can't help but wonder what it would look like with a nice paint job of white or turquoise though. Please do it! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything at the moment that was strange for me...
