Names of God: King of Kings

Do you ever spend time worrying about who is in charge?
Maybe you support your current leaders and maybe you don't.
Or maybe it's your boss that you struggle with.

Some of us just simply have a problem with any authority,
no matter who it is. We just don't like being told what to do.
Why is that?

One reason might be because we don't trust that person.
Maybe we are unsure if they have our best interest at heart.

It's true that there are many people in places of authority who are only looking out for themselves and their own interests. When that happens it makes it hard for us to trust people. So we live guarded, on the defense, looking over our shoulders, waiting for the shoe to drop.

If we're not careful, we will start to equate God with people. Because we live guarded against people, we start to live guarded against God. Because we don't trust people, we don't trust God. Because people let us down, we assume that God will also let us down.

I am sooooo thankful that God is not like people.

God made us and HE loves us.
God is for us and not against us.
Everything HE does is certainly for HIS glory,
but it's also for our good.
I know that even when I can't see it,
HE always has my best interest at heart.

Not only that,
those other authority figures that I don't always trust....
they never have the final say in my life.
Why?
Because Jesus is King.
And not just King, but KING OF KINGS.

That title tells us that there is NO higher authority.
HE is over all.
HIS reign over ALL things is absolute!
HE will have the final say on earth and in our lives.

I pray that we all know HIM as
KING OF KINGS
and know that we can safely trust HIM
with every part of our lives.
