Go Pirates!!!

Well, I've decided to trade in my Pirate ship for pompoms this year:)
We're still Pirates, just Sporty Pirates.
Go Pirates!

I've been working some this week trying to get a few things done
before I have to officially go back next week.
(ARGGG next week!)

So here are a few pictures of what I have done so far.

I made EVERYTHING to match my new theme.
So that means my Scotch laminator has been working overtime.
Here are my new word wall cards.
I added them to my one & only chalkboard with dot magnets
(which reminds me that I need some more of those)
& I'm planning to write the words on the board with dry-erase markers.
Here is my new conduct clip chart with a baseball theme.
No need to adjust your screen, it really is crooked.
I CANNOT leave it like that but I was too tired & annoyed to fix it.
(next week......I really hope I can pry it back off the door without tearing it up!)
I made all new labels for my book baskets.
These are my AR book baskets.
I also made labels for my theme book baskets.
(don't have those put on yet)
Sporty Alphabet
Daily 5 board is ready to go!
Well that's the beginning of it.
I report to work next Thursday and I probably won't make it back in until then.
I always hit panic mode right before going back,
so you might hear about that next week.

For now I am headed out of town for some back to school shopping,
free time and a baseball game.

If you made it through all of this and want something for free, here it is.
I made this to go with my sporty Daily 5.
Just click the picture if it's something you can use.
This file is an "unofficial adaptation of the Daily 5 by Gail Boushey& Joan Moser".
It is not endorsed by the 2 Sisters. To access official resources, check out

I have 2 of these products for sale at TpT.
Have a great weekend and Go PIRATES!

I know we all change the channel when infomercials come on.
I feel like an infomercial about to happen,
but PLEASE do not change the channel:)

Does it take them 10 minutes of grinding & it still isn't right?

What?! Another FREEBIE?!

Oh my word! Have y'all been participating in our blog hop and giveaway?!
And have you been over to check out our new collaborative blog?!
Some super ladies have been hard at work for weeks getting
this all up and running and I think it looks FABULOUS!

I've also hopped around and picked up some great freebies.
If you haven't started, what are you waiting for?
Click the pic to start the hop.
Next up is Memory Verse Monday.
Your packet this week is Revelation 21:23 and
it includes word cards, unscramble the verse, blank writing sheet and a
page to illustrate the verse.
Click on it to get your free copy.
In my neck of the woods we are heading back to school on August 1.
Yep, it's time already!
So here is a view of one of my projects last week.
I inherited an ANCIENT room with ANCIENT shelving and furniture.
So the way it has been spruced up over the years is paint and contact paper:)
How many layers of paint and contact paper can you put on a single shelf?
I finally got all of the contact paper out and the painting began.
I'm working on a sports theme in my room this year
& I'm doing everything in green, blue, black and white.
These 2 shelves are stuck right in the middle of my kids cubbies &
I usually keep baskets of themed books on them.

This year, I am kicking off the Daily 5,
so I am going to house their individual book baskets here.

Since it's a sports theme, I couldn't resist these super cute buckets from the Dollar Tree.
They are big enough to hold a folder and their books.
I am soooo excited about these!
And this is what it looks like.
When I get the whole wall of shelves looking acceptable, I'll post this again.
For now, I'm happy with it:)

Enjoy your Monday and don't forget about the hop!

Changing the World

If you follow me on Facebook then you've heard this story before (sorry).
But for those of you who don't (y don't u?)
I just got back home yesterday from a week spent with some amazing teenagers.

We spent the week in Brunswick, Georgia at World Changers.
World Changers is an organization that goes into many cities all over the country
and helps meet construction needs for those who can't help themselves.
Some of our projects this past week included roofing, replacing windows and siding,
painting, building wheelchair ramps, etc.

The team I was on painted a house in 3&1/2 days.
It was hard work BUT so much fun!
There is nothing like helping someone.
It was life changing to the home owners and also to those of us who were able to help.

Here is your Memory Verse packet for this week.
1 John 1:7 includes a coloring sheet, fill in the blank, word cards and a writing sheet.
